Santa Fe Station, San Diego

Last weekend I took a ride downtown to SD's train depot, Santa Fe Station. It is a great building and I already have plans to go back to do some more shooting. Most of these were done with the wide angle lens I was borrowing from BorrowLenses as I was testing it out. I think it did very well, indeed.

Happy Saturday All.

Shootin' Wide

I got the Tokina 12-24 from BorrowLenses yesterday, and decided to take it out for a test drive. My original goal was to head down to the beach and shoot something for my 52 Week Project of sunsets, but sadly San Diego decided it would be a foggy cold day at the beach. I still got out and took a few shots, and then headed back to University Heights and just walked around a bit. So far, I'm liking the lens. I have two events for Giving Back Magazine tonight, and I'm taking it with me. Check in tomorrow to see how that goes!

Here are a few images from yesterday. Feel free to comment, like, and share. I'd love to know if anyone else has shot with this lens and their feelings on it.

Happy Saturday.

Nordstrom/SD Opera Fashion Event

Tonight I was assigned by GB Magazine to cover the Nordstrom Spring 2013 Fashion Preview held at the Wayland Center at Del Mar Fairground benefiting the San Diego Opera. Amazing clothes. Beautiful People. What more could you ask for? Full event photos will be up in the new "Event" tab after they are published in the magazine. For now, enjoy a few shots of the venue.

Graffiti/Mural Adventure

Inspired by a few murals in the the neighborhood I took my camera out for a drive today. These were found in South Park, North Park, East Village, and Chicano Park in San Diego.

Puppy Portraits

I'm dogsitting for my friend Beth, and aside from puppy cuddles and cuteness it affords me the chance to photograph. For the most part Reggie is putting up with my incessant camera lens, though I'm sure I've spotted him rolling his eyes at me.

The Main Stage

A few months ago I volunteered to take photos at the San Diego Pride Festival. Luckily I was in the right place to be asked to photograph the main stage on the first night. I'm finally getting around to processing and posting them. Here are some of those photos.

A Detour to San Juan Capistrano

A few weekends ago I made an overnight trip up to Los Angeles to meet up with my friend Theresa and her lovely family. On the way home I decided to take a detour to the Mission at San Juan Capistrano. The Mission was founded more than two hundred years ago, and is now open to tourist. The history of this place is amazing. It was a beautiful way to spend an hour and I encourage you to visit or just read more about it.
